Carson Maddox, Carson Maddox Studios
It was a love of mid-century modern design that first inspired Carson – but not just its lines and forms. He was fascinated by the way it incorporated modern materials and processes that had been previously reserved for industrial applications, and how this opened up new design possibilities. He started his Chicago design studio in 1996, and this openness to exploration still captivates him to this day. It is reflected in his work through the interplay between contrasting materials and clean lines that highlight their inherent richness and beauty.
